What is the biggest star in the sky?
You have been getting many different answers and hopefully, I will be able to clear up some of the confusion. Stars come in a wide range of temperatures and densities. This makes a choice more difficult. Secondly, estimates of star sizes are often revised every couple of years as more data become available. Finally, new stars are being discovered and they are beating out the old ones. Darkly Dreaming~ gave you some which are more recently determined. Without going to look them up, they sound familiar from one of my previous searches. One not mentioned here is VV Cephei, which I believe is a good candidate. The estimation of the sizes of these huge red giants does carry with it a fair amount of error. Of the stars we can see, Deneb is definitely a bully…awesome and huge, but it isn’t as large as most red giants. It is hot, though, and denser than red giants. It is also probably more massive than most. Another fainter star which I have found in tables is Epsilon Aurigae. It can be seen
