A. Since all signals transmitted through a standard dial-up connection are analog, the smallest bit of interference on a telephone line can cause general connection problems. The number one contributing factor to slow connection speeds is weak signal quality on the phone lines and/or background noise on the line. Unfortunately, there is only limited troubleshooting that can accommodate poor line quality.
