What is the biggest breed of rottweiler???
There is one kind of Rottweiler. He’s called the dog of Rottweil aka the Rottweiler. There are different “varients” I suppose but I’ve never heard of the “Roman Rottweiler”…In Germany there were 2 different “races” of Rottweiler, a larger one for cart pulling and a smaller one to herd cattle and guard. These two strains no longer exist (probably mixed together). Americans breed the biggest Rotties I’ve seen, I’m American, and I also have the “Bigger is better!” syndrome. BUT bigger is NOT better when talking a breed of dogs notorious for hip dysplasia, large size = guaranteed hip dysplasia. Get a breed standard sized Rottie who’s parents were OFA cleared. He’s going to be absolutely MASSIVE. Keep him thin in his fragile puppy years, hopefully that’ll lessen the chances of him having hip dysplasia. Also do NOT over exercise him. Hopefully that’ll cut down the risk too. But chances are a person who breeds for that kind of size has no concern for hip health. He may grow up and have bad
