What is the big secret behind the Ron Dayne situation?
There has to be more to what we are hearing or should I say not hearing about why he is nowhere to be found. I think it’s a disgrace they way he has been treated by Jim Fassel. – Ron Dear Woody and Ron: It is a shame what happened with Ron Dayne this season. Sunday’s finale against Carolina will be his 16th game on the inactive list. It’s been a wasted year for him and he might have helped the team had he received an opportunity. Jim Fassel decided coming out of training camp that Dayne was No. 4 among his four running backs and he never changed his opinion. How much that has to do with Dayne’s refusal to take part in the offseason conditioning program is unclear. Surely, that didn’t help. But Dayne still has a year remaining on his contract. He is one Giant looking forward to getting a fresh start with a new coach. If he gets it, perhaps Dayne will be a productive player in 2004.
