What is the Biblical Definition of Faith?
The Holy Spirit through the apostle Paul defined “faith” from a biblical stand point. He shows the importance of “faith” in serving our Heavenly Father as not only a mental process that accepts the truth or the actuality of something. But in addition he declares “faith” must be based on proven evidence and attested truth. He defines “faith” as follows in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews first verse: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (King James Version).” The Revised Version of the bible restates Heb. 11:1 as follows: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the proving of things not seen.” The Apostle Paul further said that the principle or law of Faith is absolutely necessary to serve Our Heavenly Father: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to Yahweh (God) must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” The word “faith” is often associated with a dogma or a re
