What is the best WMV to MP4 or any other Ipod compatible format converter that is free?
The best WMA to MP4 or M4A (M4A is preferred) is iTunes itself. With a clean install of iTunes, on any platform, it’s automatically set to convert songs to the Advanced Audio Coder format, AAC for short, M4A by file type. Literally, all you have to do is right click the WMA song, and mouse over “Open With…” from the context menu. Assuming iTunes is installed, you’ll click iTunes in the list of usable applications that appear. Following that, the song will open in iTunes, and iTunes will convert it and place it in the correct folder. And there you go! The song should be converted fine for use with iTunes and any iPod. In the rare event that it doesn’t convert and results in an error, a nice free application (for Mac and Windows, whichever platform you’re using) called Audacity can convert a wide variety of song files, and should be capable of your needs. Best of luck!
