What is the best way to wish someone a Happy Thanksgiving?
It’s after Thanksgiving now, but I’ll answer anyhow…there’s always next year! It all depends on whom you’re talking to and whether it’s in person or over a distance. Cards are always nice for relatives and friends in far off places (pumpkin cookies can substitute for pie…they travel better too). Or an e-mail card could be sent, there are plenty of free sites that have some really funny and/or heartwarming ones. If it’s in person, the easiest thing is to have them over for your Thanksgiving dinner, especially if they don’t have plans (or perhaps don’t have family in the area). Or if they wouldn’t feel comfortable, pack them a “to go” meal and take it to them. In past years, we’ve volunteered at a church that was preparing dinner for those in need, in addition to it being a nice way to say “Happy Thanksgiving”, it made me very thankful that I was in a position to help that year.
