If you simply want to get rid of fat, most types of exercise will work. Taking it at a manageable pace is important though. Running on the treadmill would definitely be a good idea, and I might suggest running for 15-30 mins at a slow pace that you’re comfortable with. Chances are, after you do this, you’re going to be pretty sore, so rest until your body recovers and most of the soreness is gone. (That could mean 2-5 days, depending on the intensity of the workout.) Do the same workout, and you should notice that the soreness you experience after will be significantly less, if at all.
