What is the best way to trim a candle wick?
The best way to trim a candle wick is to use a wick trimmer. But for those that don’t have a wick trimmer, a pair of sissors works great. To trim your wick, turn your candle upside down so the wick pieces will fall away from the candle. Carefully use the sissors to cut the wick so only 1/4″ of wick is protruding from the wax. For best results try and cut the wick with the tip of your sissors. Make sure you use a good pair of sissors that are sharp for best results. I like to trim my candles over the sink, to catch the wick trimming and then flush the trimmings down the sink with water.
