International flights arrive at and depart from Tocumen International Airport, 15 miles northeast of Panama City. Carriers serving Panama with nonstop or connecting flights include: American Airlines, Continental, Delta, Iberia, Air Madrid, Copa (the national airline of Panama), TACA, LACSA, and Cuban. Another international airport is expected to open in Playa Blanca, Panama in 2008. Panama’s gateway cities in the United States are Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, Raleigh-Durham and Orlando. The busiest flight is Miami-Panama City, which takes just under three hours.
