The best way to teach a child is constantly speaking to them in a language so will say for instance if the father only speaks polish to the children and the speaks only english the child with out thinking will be fluent in both languages, teachin the child with a tape that thranslates from one language to the other may actually confuse them as unlike adults children dont need reasonin and logic to things so where we would need to translate from onw language to the other children dont. if one parent only speaks polish and the other only english to the child they will start to think in both languages and no that they only speak one language to mummy and the other to daddy with this method the child should be fluent in both by the age of 3. We did this with a cousin of mine using english, irish and german my cousin only speaks irish to her mum, english to her dad and german to the kids at school as she is in school in germany. hope this will help.
