What is the best way to tame my cockatiel?
If you tried to get your bird out of the cage on the first day, bad idea, its best to leave them in the cage for 1-2 days alone, so they get used to the new surroundings, of course you can start getting friendly during this time by sitting near the cage and talking to the bird, but please let it get used to its new home, its scary for the poor baby. Second, alot of people say put your hand in the cage a few times a day for the bird to get used to it, however i let mine out, and just followed him around and put him on my finger, even if he flew off a second later, i kept doing this, and eventually he got used to it. If you do it the way i did, every time he perches, be sure to say good boy well done in the nicest voice you can, sounds silly, but it will mean alot to him or her.
