My old lawn mower is hard to start too, especially in cold weather. 1) What I did and it worked each time is to use a hair blow dryer to blow onto the spark plug to “heat” it up, and then put the string to start the motor. Try it and see if it works! Good luck. 2) Make sure of course that there’s enough gas in the tank, not too empty or low in gas. It will start easier with a full tank. 3) It that still doesn’t work, may be you need a new spark plug. It’s almost like an automobile!
