What is the best way to remove watermarks?
The wax in polish will help protect finish from water for a short time. When a spill is noticed, it should be wiped up immediately. When a watermark has marked the finish, use 4/0 steel wool and Johnson’s paste wax, to gently rub the stain out. Rub with the grain of the wood. Another method might be to use rottenstone and oil as mentioned earlier. Still another procedure is to stroke the area with a cloth moistened with camphorated oil and wipe off immediately with a clean soft cloth. If the surface is rough, rub with 4/0 steel wool and paste wax.
