Best way is to get your chisel good and sharp and go around and shave it off the tub and wall and dig it out of the crack between. Then wash the tub good – let it dry completely – point your hair drier at the area to be caulked until it’s completely dry – then caulk. Put the end of the tube up against the crack to be caulked really firmly – then pump the caulk in but only enough to fill the crack – not enough to squish all over creation. Then get your finger a little wet and wipe down the caulk. This will press it further into the crack. Obviously where you don’t want it is all over your tub and wall – so don’t put it there initially.
