The first thing to do is always to get an idea of how many belongings you are looking to store. Once you have that make sure you have enough boxes, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, and tape to pack everything fragile safely into boxes. As for rope, remember that these portable storage containers will be moved, so make sure your fragile items are at least somewhat secure in where they are.

I’d just say to make sure your heavy items are at the bottom because you don’t want things to get squashed and to obviously put the larger items in first while you can see where they can go. The smaller items can get packed into boxes so that they are in a more regular shape to be inserted which also makes them easier to stack.
