What is the best way to organize and edit photos?

You sound like a perfect candidate for Apple’s iPhoto. It only works on a Mac, but it’s the best software of its type, and plug-ins are available to upload to Flikr (and others) from within the application. So your workflow would change to: – Plug in camera – iPhoto detects camera, automatically opens, and imports your photos, and sorts them into ‘Events’ (all photos that where taken on the same day), and ‘Smart Albums’. – Browse photos, edit the ones you want to keep (iPhoto has some basic editing features), and delete or hide the ones you don’t. – Using the export menu and a plug-in, upload your selected photos to Flikr, Photobucket, Facebook or other places.
