Once you arrive in Puerto Vallarta you will deplane and then make your way to immigration. You will need a valid U.S. (or Canadian) passport to enter Mexico and will be issued a “tourist card” that must be presented when you leave the country. Do not lose this card! Once through immigration, you will claim your luggage and then clear customs. During your flight you will be given the Mexican documents that are required to enter the country. Your Mexican Visitor’s Card and your Customs Declaration. To clear customs you will present the customs officer with your customs declaration and then push a button to enter the country. If the button is green and you have nothing to declare than you go have cleard customs and can continue into the main part of the airport.
