What is the best way to move a grandfather clock?
First, remove the weights, pendulum and any other loose parts and fill the void (space)inside the case with fluffy blankets or pillows. Just don’t have any pressure pushing on the glass from the inside. Touching the glass is ok. You can lay the clock on its back. You can fluff the blankets around the “chime fingers” on the inside to keep them from rattling. Finally, just secure the clock and make sure nothing falls on it and you should be fine.If you want to, you could wrap blankets around the outside of the clock also before putting in your vehical.
