What is the best way to minimize lapping when applying latex paint to a paneled door?
The idea is to keep a wet edge while doing all stiles and rails simultaneously. You have to work quickly and carefully, being sure to keep your brush or roller adequately filled, and using just two or three brush strokes per application. First paint each panel using a brush or roller and then use a brush to paint the top rail. Keeping a wet edge, paint all stiles down to just onto the next rail; then paint the next rail, keeping a wet edge. Continue downward on each stile, stopping in the next rail. Finish by doing the bottom rail.
