What is the best way to make healthy meal choices on the go?
I always carry emergency snacks. I have 100-calorie packs of almonds, jerky, apples and Vitatops with me when I’m on the road. And I can always find good choices when dining out. Grilled lean meats, steamed veggies – no starches. Salads and fruit salads – all great. What is your favorite recipe from Hungry Girl: 200 Under 200? There are so many that I love. The H-O-T Hot Boneless Buffalo Wings may be my favorite. They are so good. How do you come up the recipes for your books? The recipes are for foods I crave … that my staff and I think of … that HG subscribers are asking for. You describe yourself as a “foodologist.” How would you define this term? It’s just a term I made up. I just mean I love food. I study it, and I think about it a lot, and I love to find ways to eat the foods I love and still fit into my cute jeans. Why do you think we have such a hard time knowing how to eat in the U.S.? There’s so much temptation here. And portions are huge. We’re constantly being barraged
