What is the best way to make a counter offer for a salary?
Well first off it being a temp to hire position until you are a full time employee depending on which state you live in it can be difficult to negotiate. The first thing I would do in asking for more money would be to rebuttal there offer with something like this: “I understand your position however with my experience in xyz, and the ability to xyz I am sure you can understand my position on the bottom line” Or along those lines. The goal here is to open there eyes as to why you are worth the dollar amount you are asking for. If that does not work, and what I have done in the past is ask “If I show you I am capable of doing the things I have advised you on, once I become a full time employee can I go ahead and get that dollar amount in writing” The worst thing they can say is no! Hope this helps I happen to negotiate dollar amounts for individuals. Not like this but if you don’t ask they can’t tell you NO!
