What is the best way to handle glass to prevent breakage?

Once glass has been delivered to site or the home, it should always be carried with the longest edge pointing towards the ground. It should never be put down on the ground on its corner edge as all the weight is then concentrated in a very small area and damage can easily occur. Also, a polished edge must never be dragged along a surface (eg: on a van, on a worktop etc). Even though the majority of our products are toughene, glass should never be carried without wearing the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) such as cut resistant gloves and protective wristguards. We can provide these at additional cost if necessary or, if you wish, you can buy them online from specialist suppliers.
