What is the best way to go for a Personal Digital Assistant?
Personal Digital Assistants, PDAs, are handheld devices that assist you in personal organization and allow you to interface with your home computer or network, when you are “on the move”. These devices are tremendously valuable for keeping in touch with your data and schedule. We have helped several Systemedics clients customize PDA programs for their individual needs. There are two general directions that yield good results. One is the 3Com PalmPilot and the other is one of the Windows CE palmtop computers, of which there are several models and configurations. The PalmPilot was first out. It has the lion’s share of the market and will continue to be a dominant system. It has less graphical capability but is profoundly powerful and easy to use. The Windows CE machines are more flexible and feature rich. They are still evolving and have less battery life. We use both at Systemedics and have been very happy with both types of PDA.
