What is the best way to go about organizing/cleaning a completely trashed bedroom?
I’ve had to do this a few times. First buy a lot of strong bin bags, some cleaning materials and if you can afford it: hire a carpet shampooer. First, open all the windows as wide as you can and set up a portable stereo and some cakes or treats to make the time go quicker (and lots of water and aspirin if you have a hangover). It helps if you can get someone else to help you out, but more than two of you will probably get in the way. Now proceed to take everything out of the room, including furniture and curtains. Put any salvagable fabric in the wash or take to the dry cleaners. Anything obviously rubbish or broken can go straight in the trash, find another room, corridor, or if weather’s good, garden to put everything else in whilst you sort out the room. Give the floor a clean with the shampooer or hoover, walls, windows and ceiling a good scrub with hot soapy water (try using a little vinegar in hot water for windows) and perhaps burn some incense, an oil burner or plug in an air f
