Yeah well join the club. These things are super tough critters and don’t give up easily. I am also one who does not want to use pesticides so I have tried to find natural solutions. The Japanese beetles like my crepe myrtle and my serviceberry shrub very much. I pick them off by hand alot. I also crush the beetles on the leaves. I know that is gross, but it seems to deterr them somewhat. Apparently they don’t like the scent their dead bodies give off. I also have made home made spray made of hot sauce, garlic cloves and water blended up in a blended and strained the juice and used that. The recipe I found on line from an organic gardening website. The Japanese beetles do not like garlic. I also planted garlic bulbs in the ground. That too is meant to deter the critters from burying in the ground and laying their eggs when the time comes.
