Feed them! By far the most feasible and humane way to “round-up” buffalo is to pull them in with feed. This is low stress, which translates to reduced shrink and requires that you are handy enough to close the gate behind them. Having your bison trained to occasional feedings is also sound management for dealing with emergency situations like the herd getting out or emergency relocation. Range cubes are the best “cowboy” you can get, and occasional feedings are as much about training and keeping your bison “broke to handle” as it is about nutritional supplementation.
