The Ilheus airport (IOS) is a one hour drive from Itacare. You can fly to this airport nonstop from Salvador, Sao Paulo, or Belo Horizonte. There are air taxis from Salvador but I wouldn’t do it.Domestic Brazil flights are expensive when purchased in the US. If you buy Sao Paulo ? Ilheus in Brazil, you can get it for about US$ 300 round trip (promotional rate). You can also use 20,000 miles on American Airlines to fly their partner, TAM, from Sao Paulo to Ilheus . Flying from Salvador is the cheapest.
