What is the best way to defog a bathroom mirror?
The easiest way to defog a mirror quickly is probably to simply use a blow dryer. Open the bathroom door to allow dry air into the room and plug in the blow dryer. (Make sure that you use a grounded outlet, just in case. It is unlikely that you will be shocked, but it cannot hurt to be safe.) You may also want to turn on the bathroom fan, just to be sure that air will continually move through the room. Turn the blow dryer onto the lowest setting and blow air back and forth across the area of the mirror you want to defog. It should dry quickly, and the dry air coming into the room should help to keep the mirror from fogging up a second time. This method also keeps your mirror from getting streaked by wiping away the water.
The second method that I can think of I have not actually tried myself, but my grandfather loves it. I recommend it if you do not already own a blow dryer. Before your shower, cut several slices of cucumber and leave them in the bathroom. When you want to defog the mirror, take the slices and rub the cut sides against the surface of the mirror. This will clear the fog, prevent it from returning, and will leave your bathroom smelling fresh. Unfortunately, I do not know if this method leaves streaks on the mirror, because, as I said, I have not gotten the chance to try this myself.
Getting out of a hot shower and not being able to see in a foggy mirror can be irritating. The best way to defog a bathroom mirror is to allow for optimum air circulation in and out of the bathroom. Fog is created when hot air vapors from a steamy shower mix with the cool surface temperature of a bathroom mirror, resulting in condensation. Circulating air helps minimize the build-up of steamy heat in the bathroom, lessening the temperature differential between the room and the surface of the mirror. Running a fan or opening a window while in the shower can also aid in air circulation helping to defog a bathroom mirror. If the bathroom is small or not well-ventilated, getting enough air to circulate might be a problem. Anti-fog solutions designed for car windows can be purchased to help defog a bathroom mirror. These solutions work as glass protectors, creating a water-repellent layer that prevents condensation from adhering to the mirror’s surface. Water droplets slide off glass treate
