What is the best way to cook asparagus?
A lovely recipe that always goes down well with my hubby is asparagus wrapped in bacon or parma ham; It’s very simple- you just need fresh thin asparagus and streaky bacon or parma ham, depending on your budgets and diet. Break off the hard part of the asparagus and wrap 2 or 3 with a long strip of bacon or ham. Put them in an oven casserole , no fat, no oil – nothing . Cook them in the oven at 180c/gas mark 4 (sorry don’t know in F – medium heat) for about 1/2 hour. That’s it. They are lovely with plain white rice, especially as a lot of gravy will come out, use it to pour it over the rice.
