What is the best way to cook Alaskan Sockeye Salmon?
Alaskan Sockeye salmon is delicious and easy to prepare. Most salmon recipes can be adapted to suit the King of all salmon, but some will bring out its flavor better than others! It’s always best to thaw salmon slowly in the refrigerator or run cold water over it. Do not microwave it or it will dry out and end up tasteless. Alaskan Sockeye salmon makes wonderful sashimi and sushi. If you decide to cook it, it can be marinated, grilled, pan-fried, baked and roasted. Avoid overpowering the fish – you want to savor it, not hide it! Serve with lots of lemon! To marinate: Choose a delicate sweet-sour marinade, such as teriyaki, maple and ginger or soy sauce and orange juice. Marinate in the refrigerator for two hours. Preheat your oven or grill.
