What is the best way to concrete in post anchors into concrete footings?
To insure a square deck (or any other outside structure I usually pull string lines off of batter boards.This is a very simple procedure and helps you in the initial stages. Once you have your layout complete you can mark your caisson positions and dig.I personally recommend 36″ deep as to help prevent movement from freeze thaw movement.A piece of #4 or #5 rebar to increase strength.I personally like the brackets that are galvanized and have the spacer (about 1″) for 4×4 between concrete and wood preventing rotting. Remember your new deck is only as good as the preperation and layout.
