What is the best way to charge a laptop?
That is a great question for an Apple Store technician. When I bought my Macbook Pro 1 1/2 years ago, the technician told me to keep it charged for 24 hours at first and then let the battery drain completely and then charge it back up to the fullest again. If you are going to be using this computer consistantly, the sleep mode on Macs is great when you close the lid. The automated power options within the OS helps as well. Keep in mind that there are several reviews on the internet about the lifespan of these batteries in the first place. I have had mine for only 1 1/2 years and my battery lasts only 15 minutes without it being plugged in. This is on the best minimal power options there is. If I am working on something, the laptop dies and powers off with no warning. The only fix according to Apple and all the reviews is to buy another battery. Keeping a spare battery with you should help solve this issue for your situation.
