What is the best way to become a Disney Specialist travel agent?
Disney themselves has a “College of Disney Knowledge” where you can earn a certificate of completion as a Disney “expert.” The course is available online to any travel agency that wishes to enroll. It’s not available to the general public as far as I know. You would need to be affiliated with a travel agency in order to take the course. You don’t need anything special in terms of training to affiliate with many travel agencies. Most “specialist” travel programs including Disney only provide basic knowledge about their packages and offerings of their hotels/resorts. Full knowledge comes with your own learning and accrual of information and experience. The Disney program is good though because Disney information changes all the time. An excellent website to learn much about Disney is www.allears.net. I’m a travel agent and I use it all the time to keep up-to-date. I don’t recommend any books, since Disney info changes so much they’re out of date as soon as they’re printed.
