What is the best way to assess the personality type of an individual if you have not worked with them previously?
It’s easier to do the more experience you have with personality styles. I can pick up clues with an individual even through a phone conversation. For example, the analytical style will pause in a phone conversation when asked a question. A driver style will tend to interrupt you in a phone conversation. Obviously, it’s easier picking up clues when meeting a person face-to-face. Examples include an analytical doesn’t make much eye contact, while a driver will and also will tend to lean forward and glance at their watch, especially if the driver feels the conversation is not of value and is wasting their time. These are just a few examples – in our 1-day class (2 evenings virtual) we cover this in much more detail.
