What is the best way is to store microarrays and for how long they can be kept after purchase?
Arrays should be stored in the dark, at room temperature, in a vacuum-sealed pouch, as we packaged them for shipping. Each array package is shipped with a suggested “use by” date that is based upon the date of printing and expiration date of the Corning GAPS II coated slides. We have hybridized slides over 6 months old and noticed no difference to newly printed slides. There is a potential for background to increase with slide age, but slides can last well beyond 6 months if stored as suggested.
