What is the best way for a busy person to maximize value from an old comic-book collection?
I’ve got a friend who owns one, and they sold some collectible books (hardcover, novels, no graphics) for me. I didn’t know what they’d be worth, but they could quickly do enough research to find out. The big chains won’t help you out a lot. I’d look for someone local or someone who specializes. Also, if there is a good comics store near you, it might be worth having a chat with the owner to see what he’s got to say – the key there is that it needs to be a store and a person who seems trustable. I might talk with him about one or two issues – see what he’s like, see if he’s interested, see if he’s saying something realistic, etc A lot of these guys run eBay specialty stores as a part of their business so he might be willing to work with you.
