The best in terms of lasting up to 20 years is an ISE washing machine. It is Swedish and a very good design. If you put your washing in and forget that odd sock, no problem, Open the door and in it goes. The bearings used in the drum come from a Volvo road train truck and are guaranteed a million kilometres. All government departments, hospitals ,prisons, etc use them in the UK. They start at about £700 upwards but carry a full 10 year guarantee with Axa. How many cheap machines would you go through in 10 years, never mind 20 that most of these machines last? I have an LG Direct Drive which is an excellent machine. Cost about £650. Another good make that can cost up to £1000 and last 10 years is Miele. If your pocket is more modest, the John Lewis’s own brand is of excellent quality. The JLWM1203 costs £322 and is guaranteed 3 years. It is a Zanussi that JL insisted better components were fitted.
