I am looking to buy a used SUV, but I need to find one with good gas mileage and some off-road ability. I currently commute about 140m 4 days a week, so good gas mileage is a must. I live down a rough dirt/gravel road and we like to go do things off the beaten path, so I need one with good ground clearance that has moderate off-road ability. I don’t need anything hugely rugged, but I do need something that can handle some pretty rough roads. I would also like something with good reliability because I plan to keep it for awhile and will put lots of mileage on it. I would like something a few years old (probably ’02 to ’05). What are my best bets?
