What is the best type of squash racket and how do you tell whats good and whats not?
Speak to different players and you will get different answers. Racket manufacturers such as:- Prince Head Karakal Technifibre Dunlop Browning all make ‘good’ racquet’s but it’s a question of going to a shop and picking them up to see which feels right in your hand. Probably the best place to go is your local squash club which will almost certainly have a club shop and someone knowledgeable who can give you advice. They may also have some demo rackets. However, the cheapest place to buy is almost always on the ‘net. If you are just starting i would recommend spending about £25 – £30 which should get you something decent to get started. If you’re comfortable with the brand that you have chosen you can then go up the range and spend as much as you can afford. I personally use Prince and have had 3 TT Sovereigns which you can now buy on e-bay for about £50 however, the technology is getting quite old so I’ll probably spend a bit more on my next one and go for one of the Prince O3 range £70
