What is the best type of salt water Pool System to install?
I live in Memphis, TN, and I am interested in converting my pool to a salt water system. In my initial research, it seems that there are many different brands … each claiming to be the best. What should I look? Are they all the same thing? I prefer to spend a little more advance in exchange for a system that requires less maintenance. I worked in a pool store for an extended period and if you have a salt generator you really want to be with Hayward or Pentair. Hayward has a system called Goldline works well. There are some factors you should consider. The initial cost of a generator is about 1000-1500 dollars. They say you will raise the cost of not having to purchase chlorine, but it is not always the case. In the generator there is a cell that goes wrong every 1-2 years! The replacement is about 500-1000 dollars !!!!. So many people think that if you use salt, not chlorine. THIS IS NOT TRUE!
