What is the best type of salt water Pool System to install?
I live in Memphis, TN, and I am interested in converting my pool to a salt water system. In my initial research, it seems that there are many different brands … each claiming to be the best. What should I look? Are they all the same thing? I prefer to spend a little more advance in exchange for a system that requires less maintenance. I worked in a pool store for an extended period and if you have a salt generator you really want to be with Hayward or Pentair. Hayward has a system called Goldline works well. There are some factors you should consider. The initial cost of a generator is about 1000-1500 dollars. They say you will raise the cost of not having to purchase chlorine, but it is not always the case. In the generator there is a cell that goes wrong every 1-2 years! The replacement is about 500-1000 dollars !!!!. So many people think that if you use salt, not chlorine. THIS IS NOT TRUE! The salt into liquid chlorine that is stabilized and does not last long in the water. Liqui
