What is the best type of hamster to buy?
My experience with hamsters is that the teddy bear hamsters tend to be the nicest as for the longest living they all live about the same amount expect the dwarf hamsters. If you want an unusual hamster there are the dwarf black bears. Don’t get a hairless hamster they are not only ugly but they are mean too. I would also suggest getting a male, sometimes pet stores can not sex them and if you get a female she could be pregnant and then they become over protective and can be mean. Another nice one is the regular size black bear. You can only find the black bear hamsters at petsmart. I used to breed hamsters as well as manage a pet store and worked at the warehouse that supplies petstores with their hamsters and other small animals. The teddybear hamsters are the nicest, and the cutest. (long haired hamsters) When looking for a hamster, check their eyes make sure they are clear and bright, look at the tail for any signs of diarreha (wet tail) Make sure they are not in cedar bedding or ch
