What is the best tropical fish for freshwater aquaria?
It depends on what you’re looking for. If you want to add a lot of color, I recommend some glofish. They are genetically enhanced zebra danio to be florescent. They are rather small, but travel in packs, so you’ll want to get at least five. For behavior, I’d recommend a female Betta, but first check the compatibility chart at your local Petco. I recommend a female because she is far less likely to attack your other fish. I also recommend her because Bettas have incredible memories. Unlike Gold fish who forget you the second they turn around, a Betta will always remember you, and can even learn tricks, I’ve seen them push a small ball into a mini soccer net, swim through hoops, and ring a bell when they want to eat. They are also very beautiful fish, and come in a variety of colors.
