This depends on your personal taste. The three that are most popular are almost certainly Elendor, The Two Towers and MUME, although Beleriand seems to be gaining ground as well. All of these are good and differ from each other in design and concept. Elendor is a good choice for the beginner, whereas MUME is recommended for the advanced player. Among my personal favourites are also Genesis and Aurora, although these are only partly based on Tolkien’s writings.
