What is the best timing for the microphlebectomy?
Most patients undergoing microphlebectomy also undergo laser vein ablation of the great saphenous or other malfunctioning veins. The microphlebectomy can either be performed at the time of the laser ablation or at a later time after assessing the effects of the ablation. Some insurance companies mandate the choice of staged versus concurrent timing. The PDI staff will discuss the benefits and drawbacks to these approaches based on your vein anatomy and insurance coverage.
