What is the best time of year to plan to go to Italy?
I have heard many times that people were discouraged from traveling to Italy in August. If you are looking for a place on a beach that might be good advice since they tend to be overcrowded, and most hotels will have no occupancy. This is particularly the case for the weeks immediately before and after the 15th of August as that is the peak of the holiday season for Italians. However, if you are visiting cities like Rome, Florence, Milan – or any city for that matter – July or August are excellent months I would say. In August, most Italians will be on vacation and it is amazingly easy to visit the cities. Traffic is minimal, and parking in Rome, for example, which is normally a stressful and impossible task, becomes easy! Then we must consider the nightlife! Best Times of the Year to Visit Italy… The first question people often ask me about traveling to Italy is, “What time of the year is the best visit Italy?” My personal preference is to visit in the Spring and Fall when the temperatures are cooler, the crowds are smaller, and the mosquitoes are minimal. However, that’s just me. There are some advantages to visiting in the Summer. If when to visit Italy is a question for you, I’ve outlined some of the factors that might help you make your choice… Spring and Fall: The time certainly wins out for pricing and comfort, but it might not be a convenient to travel at this time, especially if it’s a family trip. If you try to make it a Spring Break trip, you’ll probably feel rushed. Plan on at least a 10-day trip with travel. Summer: Peak tourist season in Italy is warmer and more crowded. Prices are a little higher, which can add up with a family. However, services offered to tourists are in full effect, and there is a buzz of excitement in
