What is the best time of year to go on safari?
The time of year that you will be attending the World Cup (winter) is actually the best time of year to go on safari. The reason for this is that in Winter the vegetation is not as thick as in summer, allowing for better game viewing. The rainy season on the Northern side of South Africa is in Summer and not in Winter, therefore the water is scarce and the animals congregate at waterholes, also allowing for better game viewing. Not to mention that not as many mosquito’s are around in the winter which lessens the risk of malaria.
