Used vehicle values change weekly because the “Black Book” sent by Hearst is what used car managers and wholesalers use as a guide. Certain used vehicles have to be sold by the end of the month or they will be sent to the auction. This is not something dealers like because each vehicle sent to the auction cost money to send through the lanes. It is difficult to determine what vehicles need to be sold and salesmen don’t know unless the used car manager tells them.
