What is the best time of the year for shooting Woodpigeons?
We shoot plenty of Pigeons throughout the whole year. During the winter it is more difficult to shoot larger numbers, the woodpigeon are grouped together in large winter flocks. These flocks start to break up in the spring prior to the Woodpigeon breeding. Weather plays an enormous part in how good or bad a shoot will be. Also remember, that the skill of the person using the gun reflects dramatically the size of the bag shot at the end of the day. One of the very best periods, that are often overlooked, is the months of September, October, and November. The last remaining stubble fields during this time are normally very productive.
