What is the best thing to wear in the winter while riding and working with horses?
Take a look at Mountain Horse’s clothing. Even if you don’t buy their line, you can get their “look” with other clothing. Go to a sports wear store and get proper next-to-skin socks, pants and shirt (long underwear) which will keep you warm and allow any sweat to pass through without making you cold. Over that, wear winter breeches or your riding jeans, wool socks, and a fitted polar fleece sweater. Chaps over sweatpants or polarfleece pants would work too. For outerwear, you need winter boots (if you aren’t using a saddle, they don’t need a heel), a cute coat or vest, winter riding gloves (or winter sports gloves, ski gloves if it’s really cold), and a warm hat. If you wear a helmet, you can get a thin hat to fit underneath at sports stores, or a warm cover that fits overtop of the helmet.
